Nichupté Lagoon
The Nichupté Lagoon is an interesting tourist spot in Cancun, since you can see and experience the flora and fauna of the area that is still preserved.

The Nichupté Lagoon is formed by seven lagoons: Cuenca del Norte, Cuenca Central, Cuenca del Sur, Laguna Bojórquez, Río Inglés, Laguneta del Mediterráneo and Laguna del Amor , the latter owes its name to its heart shape.
All these lagoons cover more than 3,000 hectares, and it is a large natural reserve area.
This lagoon system communicates with the Caribbean Sea through two canals, the Sigfrido canal and the Nizuc canal, which makes its waters both fresh and salty.
You can navigate the Nichupté Lagoon in a boat, or if you prefer, you can take a more leisurely tour in kayaks or rent a jet ski and make your ride a more extreme experience.

You can do many water activities in the lagoon, such as Flyboard, Skyrider, Hoverboard, Aquatwister, skiing, canoeing and many others.
You can also practice sport fishing.
The lagoon has a varied flora and fauna, from iguanas, white turtles, to leopard frogs and crocodiles that you will be able to observe while you take a tour in the extensive lagoon area.
Swimming in the Nichupte lagoon is not advisable, due to the presence of crocodiles. In fact, there are areas of the lagoon where swimming is prohibited.
Swimming is allowed in the Laguna del Amor area, but you must be cautious.
On the shores of the lagoon you can enjoy exquisite food in the various restaurants that are located next to the lagoon, being able to taste a variety of fish and seafood of excellent quality.
Among the restaurants overlooking the lagoon are the Crab House Cancun, which specializes in crabs and prawns and Harry's Cancun.
