How is Playa del Carmen

Originally, Playa del Carmen was a small fishing village but the emergence of Cancun as a world-class tourist area has benefited its growth.

Today, Playa del Carmen is a cosmopolitan European-style city, a world-renowned tourist center.

It has a first class tourist infrastructure, with all inclusive resorts and beaches that are just as beautiful as those of Cancun.

The beaches are warm, with beautiful white sands, the sea is calm, bluish in color with clear and warm waters.

From the beaches you can see the beautiful Cozumel island on the horizon, which you can visit by ferry or boat.

Playa del Carmen Attractions

In Playa del Carmen you can practice all kinds of water activities, among them diving, where you can dive in the Great Mayan Reef, the second largest in the world.

Another attraction in Playa del Carmen is the Cenotes, which are subway water caverns, where you can explore by swimming and diving.

Playa del Carmen is close to all the attractions in the area: it is the ideal place to base yourself and visit all the attractions that the Riviera Maya has to offer.

For example, Xcaret Park, one of the biggest attractions in the area, is minutes away from the city of Playa del Carmen.

Other beaches such as Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Xel-Ha and Cancun can be reached in less than an hour's drive.

At night you can stroll along Quinta Avenida (5th Avenue), the main avenue of the city, where most of the shopping stores, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and entertainment venues are located.
